A.3 Glossary

Term	Meaning
Accelerator	A processor designed for the model's arithmetic.
Aisle, cold / hot	The space between rows of racks into which cool air is supplied / from which warm air is exhausted.
Black box	A system whose workings cannot be seen from outside.
Containment	Doors and panels that keep cold and hot air apart.
Decommissioning	The end of the facility's service life. Section 10.
Handling unit	A robotic machine that replaces components. Section 4.2.
Inference	Running the trained model to answer requests. Section 6.5.
Intervention	Any act by a person that would change the facility. Never necessary; received as a request. Section 4.9.
Owner of record	The party holding title to the site; the only party that may order decommissioning. Section 4.8.
Personnel	Not applicable.
Rack	A steel frame holding equipment. Section 3.3.
Training	Setting the model's weights from data. Section 6.4.
Weights	The numbers that are the model. Section 6.2.
